The location was perfect as a base to climb Ben Nevis. Views were fantastic. We were very lucky with the weather so all in all a perfect place to stay, could not find any fault at all.
Fantastic location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast.
The hotel was very tired & worn in certain areas. Although room had lovely view it was very tired looking. Bit disappointing. Hotel in need of refurbishment
The view from the room.
Cleanliness of the bathroom - the kettle lead caught fire - smoke alarm went off - no one seemed to be bothered.
The friendliness of the staff, they were very obliging and helpful. The location was perfect for us and our needs in this short visit
Location is excellent with superb views of loch and hills. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms well appointed and clean.
Since we last stayed at the hotel you cannot cose to have evening meals in the dining room with all meals both for residents and none residents served as bar meals in the bar. Not everyone wants this and I would certainly have prefered the more formal atmosphere of eating in the dining area which is still used for breakfast. Visiting to celebrate our ruby wedding we would have preferred to have the more relaxed and romantic atmosphere of the dining room.
The staff were very good and helpful the food was basic but good.
The bed was uncomfotable a new mattress is required. The hotel is badly in need of a refurbishment.
The location was excellent, wonderful lochside views and close to Ben Nevis.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location, the rest is awful. The hotel inside is a huge disappointment, it's shabby and in dire need of updating, the curtains in the dining room had holes in them. The lobby area of the hotel smelt of chips. My daughters room was on the front of the hotel and the traffic noise kept her awake all night. The food is poor - the breakfast was basic and the only food in the evenings is bar food which is very avergage. Evening meals are served in the bar area which has great views but is spoilt by the shabby decor and irritating background music.
General decor could be upgraded
The views from the lochside were amazing. The gardens are kept in fantastic condition. The room was excellent and very comfortable. We had the sun shining on our stay and the hotel staff very friendly.
Outstanding views, location on lochside with garden and small beach. Got a better room than I booked - asked for twin got a family room with a double and a single bed. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Food was not great, more bar food than restaurant standard.
quality of everything
free wifi should extend to the rooms
Great Hotel - Excellent Service, very helpful staff and great food - highly recommended
The location of the hotel is first class and I enjoyed spectacular views from my lochside bedroom, particularly as the sun was shining! The hotel was within easy reach of both Fort William and Glencoe. The receptionist was very helpful and assisted me in carrying luggage to my room and provided useful information on local services. The price for an overnight stay was very reasonable.
I had an evening meal in the lounge and thought it was pretty average and did not represent good value for money. Breakfast was also average/
The location of the hotel is stunning I do believe many hotels share views such as this in Scotland. Onich however situated on the side of loch Leven is a fantastic place for families and a romantic or sporting trip but with stunning mountain and water views well worth seeing.
Nothing comes to mind they where busy but coped very well.
Staff were welcoming and were Scottish with local knowledge. Food was very good and the whole experience was relaxing.
There were no particular negatives. Perhaps a live fire in the residents lounge would have been more homely when we were sitting reading there on a winter's evening.
